I've always had a great respect for film photographers. (respect...envy...same thing right?). In April a good friend of mine gave me his old Nikon film camera, and thus sparked my inspiration to try my hand at film. Here are just a few shots from my first color roll. I remember being excited that, for the most part, they were all decently exposed. Then I looked at them closer, my excitement dropping, and realized it wasn't just about creating a well exposed photograph, but a great one altogether. A photography genius friend of mine once told me the key is "to not take sucky pictures". Simple, right? So I assure you I will keep that in mind as I work my way to
mastering the art of film.
